Alcudia or San Antonio Bay

...........well you decide, it can be any time in May. Which one and why ?

I think we have narrowed our holiday down to the two named places and cant make our minds up. So anyways holiday for 2 adults and a 10 yr old. Not that keen on flying so wanted a flight that was not too long. Resort needs to have lots to do because only having 1 child I dont want her to be bored.

then if I make the wrong choice I can blame you lot :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've been to Alcudia twice now ( 2003 & 2005) with my children 9 & 15. We didn't actually stay in Alcudia but 20-30mins up the road to Bay of Alcudia. Here you are in between Main Alcudia & Can Picofort. We liked it here as it was quiet & we were directly onto a large clean beach. Taxi's are cheap to get around & even cheaper are the buses, though packed out at times. From here we could get the buses to the water park in Alcudia (kids loved it), Old Alcudia & market, Can picafort (even better to take a long walk to it on beach). Buses on the main rd will take you basically anywhere.
Would we go back again? yes though I doubt my 16yr would now.
Take Mozzy repellant, last year we suffered bad with it near beach at night.
  • I stayed at the Lagomonte in Alcudia last year. The best thing about this hotel is that it is 10-15 minutes walk away from the centre - it's all-inclusive so this isn't a problem.

I wouldn't have liked to stay in the centre as it was full of British pubs and African people selling useless tat.

st antonia bay is very pretty but there is a few naughty things going on around there, alcudia is more for family hols, very pretty beach and nice people, you would have lots of fun in the kareoke bars and bike hire etc, but in st antonia bay i didnt see any family type nights out or bike hire etc, hope this might help? sorry bout miss spelling been long day babysitting

Around the bay from Alcudia is Pollensa - much nicer and no mossies. You're still close to the waterpark and all the attractions of Alcudia if you want them. The beach at Pollensa is safe, and the resort is very family orientated. Many people return time and again and it's got more of a Spanish feel than Alcudia too. Check it out.
