Claiming PPI

Myth Buster.
Many people are under the misconception that once you have made a claim on your ppi policy you are no longer entilted to seek redress.
This in not true in that if you challenge on issues other than mis-selling you may still be able to successfuly claim redress. And you may still be able to call the loan into question at the same time.

I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.

In most cases however the company will reduce any redress due by the amount received during your claim.0

Quite so ! The issues i raise under normal circumstances would bring in around double the intial premium paid as a minimum. So yes, any amount of compensation already paid would be deducted.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

Hi Peter
Just wondering why you havent been in touch since December regarding our case with Welcome Finance and Watsons. We are still being chased for nearly £4000 when we were on the understanding that you were going to try and help us - AGAIN!!!0 -
Have you tried to contact Peter at his company leslelyn? I know he had posted on the Watsons and Loancheck threads a few weeks ago. Was your case passed to a solicitor at all?Hi Peter

I have tried everything to contact him - emails, phonecalls and messages. I was being dealt with at Watsons since 2007 after being referred by Peter. Watsons suddenly dropped me like a tonne of bricks ( they hadnt/havent been in contact for about 9 months now). My case has subsequently been taken to court by Welcome and now theres a charge in my house for £4000!. Peter said that he would do his best to help me. That was in December. He is now ignoring my contact, which is obviously making me think that something shady or deceitful is occuring!
Unless you can come up with another alternative way of getting a response.
Thanks0 -

Sorry, I know of no other way of contacting him other than his business. I presume that you have also tried to get in touch with Watsons like Maxdp. Have you made a complaint to the Law Society about them? I know there is a thread on Watsons and maxdp has posted updates but as far as I am aware she is also waiting to hear from them.
Really don't know what to say to you now other than keep trying his business or even Loancheck (if it was through Loancheck you went and not through Peter's own business and also the law society. They may be able to help in getting Watsons to respond to you. If you post again on the Watsons thread it may prompt others to post their experiences. I know that quite a few "had" posted but all seems to have gone quiet (too quiet TBH) on that front for now. In the meantime what about the citizens advice if things are really bad or even getting a free hours advice from another solicitor? Sorry cannot help but hopefully someone else will post up.0 -
Thanks for your reply - the best part of it is. Peter Bottomley still posts on her regularly.
An acknowledgement from him would be good! particularly after he had PM'd me to say that he would help.
What a load of blx. hes just as bad as the company that he was initially going to fight for us!!0 -

Hi again
Still not heard anything from either Watsons or Bottomley. The thing is, how do i get all my paperwork back from watsons if they dont answer their fones. Also i have just seen a new PPi claim company advertised on the telly. Is it worth trying again thru another company - or has the fact that Welcome FInance have put a charge on my house - ended the claim?
i really want this sorted out as its been going on for too many years now with !!!!!! all resolution and one big headache.
As i dont come on here as often as id like you can email me direct on lesley underscore broadhurst at hotmail dot co dot uk
Thanks0
