FirstHand Foundation Project

Hi all

I am working with the First Hand Foundation on a project called the Love Bag Project.

It is a very difficult time for children when they go into Foster Care homes. This project is aimed at trying to make the transition easier for them. The project was first established over in our Kansas City office, and due to its success, we have brought it over to the UK.

50 bags will be produced, for 3 age groups; babies, pre-teens and teens. They will contain different elements relevant for the age groups. The contents will range from nappies to CDs.

We are looking for any companies who may be willing to help us fill these bags with items.

If you have any thoughts on companies who may be able to help, or if you yourself would be able to help us out, please get in touch!!

This is an extremely simple idea which will bring happiness to many children.

Which local authorities are you currently working with?

We are getting in touch with Westminister Social Services to find the foster homes to distribute to. Apart from that we will be working direct with the foster homes.

As your first bags will be benefitting children in Westminster, I would concentrate on contacting businesses and organisations in that Borough - local giving is often more meaningful.

Thats where we have been trying up until now, but seem to have a large number of unsuccessful replies so we're trying to branch out now.
