Hi All,
I've just started working with CTS, and I'm willing to provide a few details regarding the job.
First up, the hours are long, 7am 'till 7pm. If you're used to working a 9 'till 5 job it can be a bit demorallising. (i.e. it gets to 3 in the afternoon and you realise that you have another four hours to go, while your body is saying "it's quitting time!").
Most of the work that I've done has been pedestrain surveys/cyclist surveys - the company has widely different requirements based on geographic location. Where I live their major client is interested in getting information regarding cycle paths/footpaths. What work you end up doing will depend (from what I understand) mainly upon where you live. I (for example) will be unlikely to end up doing junction surveys - at least unless CTS get a new client in my area.
If you want to earn decent money doing casual work - then this job is v. goodt - it isn't 'money for nothing' though. The job before last that I had I was frozen cold due to sitting still for twelve hours, with a freezing wind blowing, whilst meantime the sun was beating down - I ended up getting windburn and sunburn!
In winter, it can naturally be far worse!
To get the maximum hours I can recommend that you should be willing to actually stop people and ask them if they are willing to fill in a survey form (90% of people are). Since many of the company's employees are uncomfortable doing this, if YOU can, then it maximises the chances of you being asked to carry out more surveys.
If anyone has any further questions then I'll try to answer them,

Hi Cal, I seem to be following you round the boards! We must be similar in what we want to do, I just tried to apply to CTS but got an error message, so I phoned them and registered, here's hoping!!0

Thanks for resurrecting this thread, novamation. I tried to submit the online form but got an error message, called in to the company, spoke to a helpful young man who advised me to email in my details. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Good luck if you decide to go for it!I've got a little black book with my poems in...0

This is the error message i got.
You're seeing this error because you have DEBUG = True in your Django settings file. Change that to False, and Django will display a standard 500 page
Will it still be sent??0 -
I only registered yesterday and they texted me today saying they had available shifts-for further info ring or check email. I've been out all day so only just checked it now and they're looking for availabilty in Chippenham in June for doing Bus Interviews. Too far away for me but if anyone's in that area might be worth applying online! Hope this helps!"The first time I see a jogger smiling I'll consider it."Joan Rivers0
