I use mysupermarket.com to compare prices from time to time, sometimes oput my shopping in to Asda first, just to see if it's substitutions that make it cheaper when thery compare supermarkets, but it always comes out cheapest at Tesco for the food we buy.

I buy own brand foods where I can but simply don't like any other cornflakes than Kellog's and hubby insists on Warburtons bread.

I think what makes it cheaper for us at Tesco is the special offers on everyday foods that we eat (3 pizzas for £6 for example)

https://www.mysupermarket.com free to use, and it will send your shopping basket to Tesco, Asda etc for you, so it's not double the work.;)

ps I also use the discounts and vouchers board on here - there's normally a few pounds of vouchers to be used.

  • The only thing I can say about https://www.mysupermarket.com is if you want to compare prices, do NOT include any offers, do them later. If you start adding offers into your basket, the shop you chose is almost always going to be the cheapest due to the offers.

  • I find ASDA to be the cheapest although I generally prefer Tesco.
  • i think asda and tesco's are similar, however with tesco's you can collect clubcard points which can be used on a range of things - i've got loads this year and it means i can go on days out for nothing.

After 'discovering' http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/ it became obvious for my shopping needs that Sainsbury was the cheapest...which was rather surprising.

I buy organic animal products (which are cheapest in Sainsbury) and they have a huge range of 'Basics' including vegetables like aubergines, sweet potato and fruit like strawberries and blueberries.

It really does depend on your individual tastes.

I don't like Tesco much, there's something about the lighting and the height of the shelves that has an alarming effect on my temper.

    Regards.

You might have something there, I have far more rows with the OH in Tesco than Sainsburys
