Hiya
I want to do an online shop today to save some money as when I visit the supermarket I get tempted by stuff that I didn't go in there for!
Which out of Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose or Asda are the best value/cheapest?
Thanks

Which is cheapest is entirely subjective to individul shoppers needs.
Go to mysupermarket.com do your shopping then switch between the featured supermarkets.

I personally find Asda the cheapest and best value for the products we buy.
I do tend to stock up on offers (i.e. Radox on offer at the moment, so will get 15 of those).
Their customer service is very good if anything goes wrong on delivery, much better then Tesco's who I used to use for online grocery shopping. About 2 years ago I used Sainsbury's but the store it comes from is quite small and limited products available.0 -
I would say Asda as well - although I have to shop at Tesco.0

I recommend mysupermarket as well, but sometimes a supermarket may only seem cheaper because an item is out of stock and hasn't been substituted. It's advisable to inspect your 'trolley' before paying IMO.0

I think ASDA is very good value for money,,we just got a smaller ASDA beside us recently, and started using it,, we have found ourselves going more and more to ASDA,due to price, and b 4 this shopped opened I was not an ASDA fan0

Sorry, should have been more precise..
I want to start meal planning and buy an entire weeks food so I don't have to shop everyday.
So really, I suppose it's the basics like potatoes, rice, milk, bread, fillings for bread for lunch, fruit & veg, meat for dinner, toiletries, coffee....everything really!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Maybe you could put your shopping list into www.mysupermarket.com and see what comes out best for you.
I find that I do a big shop once a month visiting T's, Morrisons and Sainsburys and stocking up on the offers that I use regularly. Tesco, Asda and sainsburys have their prices online so you can actually check yourself which is cheaper for you, but the way prices are yo-yoing these days the same one might not be cheaper next week!!
Good luck,
MrsB.

I would say Asda on the whole if you're doing it online....but it general I would say Lidl beats them all on price and the food is nice!0

If you're ok with Asda Smartprice items, you'll fare cheaper than with Aldi or Lidl.
On most basics (tinned tomatoes, beans, loo rolls, rice, etc.) you can't really go wrong there.0
