Good News Report
Last April I looked long & hard for for a really good deal for my teenage student kids. They both had pretty expensive bills from PAYG phones with Orange and I felt sure that I could save them some money. With the extremely useful help I received by reading this forum I was able to find a deal on 3 through Microline Mobiles, https://www.mailorderphones.co.uk.
I picked up a fairly basic Motorola C975 with 500 xnet minutes & 100 texts on a 12 month contract for £0.99/month after cashback at month 6. It also included free insurance for 3 months. I have been very happy with the service from Microline and have no complaints about any of the customer service from 3, they have always been extremely polite and eager to do their best to help me. Certainly, their service has been no worse than any other mobile provider I have used over the past 20 years.
My kids have been well satisfied with the performance of the 3 network, we live in Telford and this has performed well in Shropshire, the borders of Wales and in Nottingham. I have just received the cashback for the second phone I took out. Both cashbacks came on time and with no hassle, although I must admit to being a little worried about how genuine these deals may turn out to be.
My only concern now is that, unfortunately, when the 12 month contracts end I will have to look for a new deal, hopefully again with Microline on 3. My kids will be non-earning students for several more years and they (read I) can't afford the full monthly tarriff of £30/month.
I hope this thread is helpful to other users and that I've posted it correctly.
