    Sorry for going OT...

Hi dragonfly02 - have you set a proper quit date or are you just going to carry on gradually reducing them?

Glad to hear you're managing to keep at it! :)

Well I love smoking i know it's naughty and very anti0social but I do actually like it. I've had a cold lurking around for months and just can't budge it and for some reason I put it all down to smoking, Also the advert where the daughter helps her mum choose gravestone :(

So I decided that although I love smoking i'd have a go at cutting down and see how i got on, I wote down they days and times i had ciggy's on the fridge and just thought twice everytime i wanted a fag,

    sunday i smoked 17
    mon 8
    tue 7
    wed 5
    thur 5
    fri 7
    sat 5
    sun 5
    and today 5 so far

I think i'm just going to try and even it out at 5 until i am confident with it then see how i go.

Already deeling the benifit as an asthma sufferer, am only smoking outside to make it less appealing and the house is smelling much nicer already which is an added bonus.

Only problem so far is the cold i've had for months has got 5 times worse (can't breath through my nose)

If anyone can offer advice id be greatful.

woops sorry got rambling, back to Boots
Am itching to go to boots tomorrow (nothing in mind to purchse, got 2x no 7 vouchers and 2x 250 pointers)
Should i hand fire until wednesday when there may be more acm offers?
Also what is the concensus about the no 7 bogof? i was told there is no bogof offer

to get back on topic...I put my A.C into a machine last week and it got stuck..the S.A asked me if i wanted to 'take and try' (with a 'conspiring' expression)the other cards she pulled out when she opened it up!?
surely thats close to asking if someone wants to use a credit card forgotten at the till?!
That's quite scary! Though it does go against a recent post on here by someone saying the SA's are supposed to destroy any lost cards handed in so that points can't be "stolen".

Still starlite - if this SA is so blasé about using other people's cards, hopefully she'll be equally relaxed about putting all the <cough> scams <cough> thru the till! ;)

Well done on reducing the ciggies! :D I'm also an asthma sufferer.... and going from a warm house into the cold air is a well known factor for triggering off wheezing. Just a thought........

Thanx liverbird but my asthma isn't too bad, i think its ciggy related though so hopefully it will reduce along with the cigs lol.
The good news for all of us though is when i'm craving a ciggy I spend hours trawling through Boots.com to find glitches, unfortunatly not found any yet but i'll definatley keep you posted

I know full well what you mean by "I love smoking" but your brain will do anything to convince you of this because of the drug addiction. If there was no nicotine in the ciggies, you wouldn't find the taste, smell and the smoke that pleasurable at all.

I had my whole flat decorated when I quit so had a great incentive not to start again.

With your cold, I found (and mates who've quit have found this too) that it can take ages to get rid of the rubbish in your lungs. Bit like a drawn-out detox!

Best advice I could give is to stick at it, you'll feel so much better and it's the single most important thing you'll do to improve your help. (You'll miss it, but you'll cope :) )

And then go and spend all your savings in Boots!

    Very best of luck!

    Dave
