LOL! They never used potties! Straight to the toilet (although DS1 had that fetish for peeing against the garden fence like Thorny for a few weeks) well, DS2 is still getting to grips with it...
So much for me not being dizzy anymore!
Nic and Fatty, my morning sickness didn't kick in till about 7/8 weeks then lasted till about 13 weeks and between then and now (almost 17) it has vanished. This is my third, first one I had normal ms (8-12 weeks gone by 12noon), second I had hyperemesis this time it's been not too bad, so every pregnancy is different.0 -

No morning sickness isn't hereditary but rumour has it stretch marks are. I didn't get any with my DD but my bump was tiny, however, my mum had a terrible pregnancy with me & her bump was huuuge & she didn't get any either so I'm hoping it will be the same this time
Sami's right private scans aren't that much, we had our 12 week scan privately last time & that was either £70 or £90 - I can't remember which lol. They've probably come down since then! The cool thing about our private scan was that we got to watch the whole thing & the image was shown on a screen on the ceiling so I didn't have to crane my neck to see some pc screen on a table.
One of my boobsis a little lumpy but that is all, by this time with DD I had gone up 2 cup sizes!

Dunno about MS not being hereditary... it certainly travels in my mums family! Her mum had it, she had it and I had it (and all of us worse than normal MS... says something when I was "lucky" to only have it for 18 weeks
mum had it all the way through!)
Back from allotment meeting - looks like we might get the allotments as early as next month with any luck! Wooohooo! Loads of hard graft but it'll be worth it and not too far from the house either - whoop whoop!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Oh and hubby tonight turned round and said "blimey I dunno if it's what you're wearing but you've suddenly got big! Are you retaining water or something?" - now if he hadn't looked quite concerned I MIGHT have actually got quite upset... so...guess I'll be monitoring my weight a little closer for s couple of days because he swears I'm bigger than I was yesterday and he's looking a bit concerned... I feel fine thoughDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Hmmm maybe MS is hereditary - to think I'm moaning about not feeling pregnant & wanting to feel sick :rotfl:

I would think it would depend on why you suffer ms. For some women it is a responce to the certain hormones, for others it is the heightened sence of smell and others its to do with their digestive tract being more sensitive.
So, depending on what you actually inherit from your parents (the sensitive digestive tract, hormone receptors or sence of smell) it could be possible to see a common theme with morning sickness.
In my humble opinion! :rotfl:
When my mother was carrying me, she was fine (didn't find out till he was almost 20 weeks!), whereas with my brother she was very bad and also had low BP so used to faint a lot.
And it has been hinted that a common theme for pre ecclampsia is that it is actually passed on from your partners mother! The thinking being that it is actually chemicals from the placenta that cause the rise in BP. It has been shown that if your partners mother suffered from it when she was pregnant with him, then you are more likely to get it.
But, that is where it gets confusing. MIL had pre ecclampsia with all 3 of her boys. Eldest BIL's wife was fine with the two children she has had with him (and her older child from another partner). Youngest BIL and his wife have fertility problems (but are Christians so won't go to a doctor, she has an older child to another partner also). And me, pre ecclampsia in both pregnancies so far.
I love all this sciency stuff!!! :rotfl:0 -
Tine, you're at 'that' point where you baloon overnight (oh joy!
)
I didn't like that bit last time!!
I'm not sure anything is hereditary
My mum didn't get MS apart from a couplpe of random throw ups - I was nauseas and sick for 2mths with chris and nearly 4 with this one!
My mum's 1st labour was really long and sis was delivered by ventouse in the end had an epidural - my first was really quick and straight forward just gas n air.
only thing that is similar is that neither of us have much in the way of stretch marks.
Anything that is hereditary I asume is watered down by the fact that I take after my dad in most ways, we shall she went sis has babies as she is more like mum - although she's not planning on kids until she's - 30-35 so any differences could be due to the fact she'll be 10yrs older than when I had mine. God that sounds scarey when said like that!!!0
