    Sorry, I wandered off..

Was looking on the other boards for 1st birthday present suggestions - as an aside, someone suggested saving the Argos books which are out on each birthday then handing them over on the 18th birthday so the "child" can look back and see how things/prices have changed!
    only just seen this!
I'm sure I'd have been soo happy if someone handed me 18 argos catalogues for my 18th :rotfl: what am I a recycling bin??:rotfl:

    what were they saying?
That any smear tests for girls aged under 25 in england get ignored by the labs
so a GP can agree to give a girl a smear for what ever reason, send it to the lab and they just dispose of the swab/slide and send a letter saying ur too young we won't test you:eek:

I thought that under 25's could still have a smear if they asked for one, which is true but they won't ever get looked at by the lab!

Sami - that's awful. What if they missed diagnosing something because of it??

Morning girls.....sorry I havent posted for a long time but things have been a bit traumatic...

I've been lurking but a bit scared of posting.

I went into premature labour, 17 weeks early and thought we were going to lose bump. It did eventually stop but I had to stay in hospital for a while.

Its lovely to hear of all the births, congratulations to everyone. And you cheered me up no end reading the thread last night!!

Well after everything I said about not wanting to know the sex, I asked when they were scanning me in hospital as we thought we might not get to see.

I was so convinced we were having a boy but we are not....she's pink!!!

I think im settling down now and will try to continue posting but just felt I was jinxing things by posting sooner....xxx

That is very worrying considering I had at least 3 done before the age of 25.

Used to be. I had first smear test at 14, but don't get the next one till I'm 25. 11 years will have passed, I'll have had at least one baby. Seems a bit strange really!

Jillie - one of the GPs at my old surgery wouldn't prescribe the pill or any other contraception unless you had a smear first and then regulary afterwards, which I think is a pretty good way of doing it but obv he can't do that now

Triggles they had the parents there of a girl who died of cervical cancer at 21 leaving a toddler without his mummy! :(
