Vodafone Upgrade or go to O2?

I'm wondering if any of you can help. I'm currently a Vodafone customer and am in the re -negotiation stages of my contract. Basically I have a really good Vodafone deal which they dont offer any more - £30 per month for 500 anytime/network mins, 250 texts, 100 WAp mins. However I'm a high user of mins and my bills are still coming in at around £90 a month. My options are now
a) Stay with Vodafone and get their £50 a month deal (for 18 months) which gives the same deal I'm already on but with stop the clock and a Nokia N70 OR
b) switch to O2 for their 'I- mode' Samsung Z301i for £45 a month which gives me 1000 mins anytime any network but only 150 texts (Also an 18th month deal)

Any opinion on comparison between the handsets or tariffs would be greatly appreciated.

  • I have been with o2 for 4yrs now, very good customer service, but the main reason for me is I work in some very remote areas and almost always get reception.
1000 xnet mins for £45 is better than the Voda so i'd go with o2.

I would put your letter of cancellation in first to vodafone, i went through re negotions with them and they couldnt or wouldnt offer anything decent the n70 was offered at £100 even when i told them on the phone my intention to cancel they wouldnt budge, so i took out a nice new contract with 02 for a 6270 as i had been after the 6280 similar phones etc and once i was happy sent off my letter to cancel then last week once the letter was recieved my vodafone they called me offering me the n70 free and when i declined they asked was there anything they could do to keep me - unfortunatley too late my 2 weeks (cooling off)were over with 02 and im happy with the 6270 and the 200 mins 500 texts for £30 pm but would have considered the deal at the begining. And i have withdrawn my cancellation letter to vodafone previously 3 days before cut off so you can still upgrade if they come back to you with what you want.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Online, the Z310i is £35 a month for the 1000 min deal, including a free BT headset. I almost went for this myself, but don't really need the mins. Vodafone were pants with me as far as retention deals go, so my number switches to O2 in 2 days time!
