26 watchers but no bids!

Hi,

I've listed a minibus for sale on ebay, starting price 1000, no reserve (but I'm hoping to get at least 1200 for it).

It's on a 10 day listing, due to end this Sunday. There have been close to 400 views, with 26 watchers but no bids yet. I'm confused why this is so? Are people waiting till the last few days/hours, as there are still 5 days to go?

Is 26 watchers alot, and can I expect some bids?

Thanks!

I always wait til the last minut before I bid. People are probably waiting and hoping to get it as cheap as posible. No one wants to drive the price up yet.
I'd say 26 watchers are pretty good. I wouldn't worry to much

Don't expect too much. I've had 16 watchers once and no bids.
  • Yes most people bid in the last few minutes and with 26 watches you should watch the price rocket in the last hour! I have an auction listed now which has 8 watchers but no bids and I'm hopeful of getting a good price for it.

does your auction end time at a reasonable time on sunday? ie not early morning or late at night
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)
  • The OP said it ends this Sunday and going on this I would say you should get a good load of bids.

People always wait till the last minute. Dont panic, there will be a frenzy at the end.

I don't know about car auctions on eBay, but in other auctions I have noticed that if the starting price is near the value it will probably go for (as it sounds like it might be in this case), then bidders are more liable to wait until the last minute to bid. If on the other hand the starting price is really low, then there tends to be more early bidders.

Like I say though, I'm not sure that this applies to vehicles, but it is definitely a trend I have seen elsewhere.

    Either way, good luck! :)

Hi, I always make my bid 5 seconds before the end using a snipe. With that many people watching I am sure you will get some bids.
  • i've sold a few cars of ebay, it's alway the last 5 minutes when it really heats up, (the best bit), so dont panic, still very early days yet.
