I would say Grace if you have not got anything better to do than come on here and put people down then please do not bother!

wow snobby - you dont have to be a perfect speller to get a job - trust me on that. Quit being disrespectful and offer some constructive advice.

You say you ran a business, then why not start another, that way you would be able to work the hours you want. I don't think your partner will find a good job at the job centre, when I was in charge of HR in my uncles company we only advertised through the job centre as a last resort.

Depending upon the type of job though it will be advertised in the job centre, if it doesn't require specific skills, and is minimum wage/slightly above - which might not be a great job but that is all some people want in any case! Money isn't everything, so long as you have enough to pay the bills & you enjoy your job what's wrong with that? More money doesn't always equate to job satisfaction!

Definately check the local papers though, and as many websites as you can!

I hope you find something soon princess - I've been lucky fortunately in that when I was struggling to find a full-time job after finishing university I was still at home, but now I have a mortgage it is quite scary as my workplace have recently made some people redundant, fingers crossed that is the last of them.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

Hiya hope everything turns out ok for you, Everywhere is the same...Quiet scary, as the nursey that i post in my beofre post has had to drop 5 members of staff tonight, Lucky i didn't go for that job, This is what confused me earlier tho,

Why advertise for staff, and then 3 weeks later let people go?

  • Maybe due to the way things are at the moment, some working parents find themselves out of work and no longer requiring the nursery's services?

Sorry, Grace1990 but to advertise in the jobcentre is free, so why not? It is better to advertise in a variety of mediums to attract people with different skills - people who are in work and hate their jobs do actually visit jobcentres and/or visit the website. and why wouldnt you find a good job there? All government agencies, for example, advertise through the JC and all the local newspapers are available to read, which saves money AND some staff are very helpful. It is a target driven environment like anything else. Points mean prizes, if they can fill a vacancy from their advert link all the better
