Maybe if your spelling skills were better, you would have a better chance of finding a better job.

It must be so hard for you, at the fact you come on a look for other peoples threads, just to tell them that they cant spell!! Poor you

Back to actual topic at hand ...

If they were offering you £5.00 they are breaking the law. I would consider going back to them and mentioning minimum wage - You'd be walking away with £353 after travel expenses which is more than double what you'd be getting monthly just now. That's a HUGE difference to your income stream! Even for only twenty-five hours work.

I really think you should check for agencies in your area, they'll place you in clerical work without much trouble; they're not too fussed how experienced you are. Failing that, there's fast-food, bar-work, cleaner; all sorts - One hurdle that people often need to overcome is feeling ashamed at the work they do. At the end of the day it pays your bills and keeps you alive. Once you're in a position that you have steady income you can start looking at moving 'up the ladder'.

How about finding employment where you can work night shifts? Does that suit you a little better - even just temporarily?

Well it have only just moved from london, there i was self employed as a childminder, so i was going to re-register my work for that..
After speaking to the job center and looking at other websites, Most places was at the time paying, £4.75 per hour, But mine has now gone up! Thanks for all the advice, Its been a great help!

Thanks for the advice, Well i was offered a job at a local nursey 20 miles from where i worked and that was full-time pay, once i took out:-
    Ni
    Tax
    Travel

i would have been left with the same about the same amount as what i'm earning now...!

Also i cant be too far from home, As i'm also a un-paid carer for two family members, so day or night i might have to be called home...

As for my OH, Its his wages that atm Keeping our head's above water, Intil we can both find better one's!

As a carer you should be entitled to carers allowance. I don't think it's a huge amount but it might make a difference.

I think that also with work you need to look long term. Working at a nursery might only pay as much as your other job right now when you take everything out but do you have an chance of promotions? Sometimes it's worth making the sacrifice in the short term so that you have more money in the long run.

Take the child-minding back up. I don't know the rules and regulations to it but I'm certain if you were to explain to the parents that at times you need to travel somewhere to fulfil other obligations - so long as you ensure the child is safe, always with you, etc. when you're going there, surely there wouldn't be a problem?

I think you should get back into it - Would it not mean parents have to come to you with the child? That's gotta be a good thing, you wouldn't need to travel!

stick at it, it will come right in the end, self employed work could be the thing for both of you - even though house building is quiet, there is always a need for a good handyman, perhaps your partner could do any other labouring jobs, like gardening, with the nice weather on its way - stick a card up in the local shop etc for ironing or cleaning? Perhaps he could upgrade his skills into plastering or something he doesnt already do, even if it means working for nothing with someone to get the skills when he hasnt any work with his normal employer if you follow. You are clearly positive and bright just keep thinking and looking around for opportunities, but do consider mystery shopping, its easy and fun and bumps the funds up - best of luck :)

just seen the last part of your message, you could always consider a social fund loan or get help via a credit union to fund this

Hiya, and thanks for all the support and info!
Well basically i thought i would update, I have lost my job this evening so now as from monday morning, looking into becoming self-employed again!
Childminding - babysitting - ironing from home - dog walker - anything!
I was not (might be now:-) ) entitled to any help as they counted, my partner to cover the cost!!!

Has anyone got any idea, of work from home, employment, going which helps with any income?

I understand that it will be alot lower, then what i was getting, which was low anyways, but i am the "type" of person, that getting bored just doing nothing!!

    Anything....That pays...!

Carers allowance, have said they can not help at this present time, As the two people i care for are not entitled to a carer, yet their local GP seeing them on a weekly basis have said that they do need a carer, So no luck or help there!

    Many thanks,

P.S:- having computer probs, so might not log on for a while, will try and reply a.s.a.p!
