I am going to contradict all the above posters and say when I feel I am not winning anything I take a break from comping. I plan on not coming near this forum for a week, go for walks etc instead. After a very short time I am itching to get comping again with renewed vigour. Comping shouldn't be a chore and you never know in your days off a big prize may land on your doortep.0

I think it's best to look at comping as a hobby and to enjoy actually entering the comps, imagining what you would do if you won etc!
Yes it's great to win the big comps, but a lot of people gain a lot of pleasure from receiving little prizes now and then and that spurs them on to keep going. You really never know when the 'big one' is round the corner.
I see a lot of posts from people who haven't been comping that long or only enter a few comps a day complaining that they haven't won - but really if you look at the people that do seem to win a lot, the majority of them spend a heck of a lot of time comping! I wouldn't begudge them any of the prizes because I think they thoroughly deserve them with the amount of hours they put in.
Some people admittedly do seem to get lucky streaks but it really is a numbers game so I think you just have to keep going and THINK POSITIVE! At the end of the day if you start getting fed up you can always take a break from it and come back to it again when you start feeling more motivated.0 -
kymmie , you are more luckier than me , u are winning , even tho thye are the little things ,, its still a win ,,, i have zero wins ,, can't even win the choccy on the cadburys daily or win on the spin to win lucky beans ,,, or even a TC or play .com voucher .. hehehe , oh well i keep thinking one day it will be me ,,,:j:j:jDont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0

I have felt the same and thought of giving up, Ive been comping for almost a year and won one prize in the first week. Was a playstation goody bag, no playstation or anything though heh.
Anyway I had won diddly squat since and was thinking of giving up but in the last month Ive won a pc game (still hasnt turned up though) and a battlestar gallactica book just last week. So maybe my luck is turning,
I'm still hoping of a big win though, That ITV call will come to me one day oh yes!Comping again0 -

I don't think it's greedy. I remember seeing a post in IWIWIW from someone who had sold EVERYTHING they had won to pay their student fees and now were at a point where they could start keeping their prizes (sorry I forget your username) I would rather someone was doing this than just signing on or whatever.
Or myself, I have won a DS this year but am still entering DS comps because I have 3 children. Also my MIL and my Dad are desperate for one too and without the comps I would never be able to afford to buy those sort of gifts. They do so much for me why shouldn't I try and do something nice for them? My MIL will be over the moon on Sunday when I give her the DS I won as a Mothers Day present.
I'm trying to win a laptop for my OH as his is constantly on the verge of dying and he relies on it for work but I really don't begrudge other people winning laptops at all - half the fun is in the entering. I'm always hyper excited around the end of the month when Iknow a shed load of comps will be ending - I drive everyone mad and if I just win a book or a cd it's so worth it:staradminHuuuuuuge thank you hugs to all posters:staradmin0 -
Im not having any luck at the moment, I can't even win cadburys chocolate or galaxy books so if you find out whats wrong can you please let me know.
I had quite a good year last year, but so far this year has been poop, even though I am prob doing a lot more comps now. ahhh well I guess others are too. Maybe my beginners luck has gone....0 -

I agree with this post. I have been luckier than I ever thought I would be when I started comping Dec 07/Jan 08. However, during Jan of this year, I was beginning to feel that entering comps was a chore, ie something that I needed to do every day.
Although the wins were coming in regularly, I made the decision to stop comping for a month and I didn't enter any comps at all in Feb (Feb wins in my sig are from wins notified during Feb but entered prior). I'm now back to entering comps again and I'm enjoying it. Despite being lucky enough to have won so much, I would stop completely if I didn't enjoy it.08 wins £3000+ :j09 wins £4408:j2010 (6 months off) £2004:j2011 £10,003 :j 2012 - £6013 :j2013 wins £8500 :j 2014 £5530 so far....0 -
