Oh globalds - you've been going to all the wrong places.......... Nationwide/Kwik fit..

You are not new to the site either - shame you didn't come on here before service and MOT due.

Done now... Guys, we have to help him get out of this without too much extra cost.

Seems this is my weak area .:o
I am usually pretty good at getting bargains for most other things.
So any one know any where in or near Telford that is fairly priced and reputable?

Sadly I am in south east and can't help - but, bound to be someone on here that can advise you.

Meanwhile, whilst waiting for the wise ones, you can share with us some deals from other forums!! ;)

Assuming the car is in date for MOT, are you covered by the AA / RAC.

You could be concerned if its safe to drive the car with this noise, and call them out for a diagnosis under your cover.

If you haven't noticed yet the GIOL (gambling introductory offer loopholes) section is working overtime.
Cheltenham is not the week to be starting up but a read of a few of the posts will soon let you see that some of the offers are in the hundreds and there are more offers than you can shake a stick at.
So far it has been a good week ..I am still about a hundred up on the mechanics :D and a few more bets to get in.
Lots of people stay away from GIOL but it has to be one of the most profitable areas of MSE ..
I have made a few thousand this year and would put myself somewhere near the middle of the table.
I have to go to Portsmouth tomorrow (Not in my car) so that will cramp my style.

No Breakdown cover ..I really don't go anywhere ..3 miles to work each day and the odd trip to Wolves ..A tank of fuel usually lasts 3 weeks .

if theres a noise coming from it, it doesnt always mean there will be massive amounts of play in the wheel when they jack it up and check it,but if the noise wasnt there when you took it in and now the noise is there then it must be something to do with the work they have carried out.
but i dont think an MOT would cause the bearing to fail. the work on the brakes however might have caused this.
at the end of the day ( a cliche i hate to use) it will be your word against the garage.
find a local independant, dont fall for the national chains like kwik fit with thier fancy signs luring you in tempting you with supposed bargains, the best bargains will be found in back street garages with good reputations. ask neighbours or friends who they use locally.
the bearing should be done, dont leave it too long,if it fails and happens to come off then the full wheel and your new shiney brakes will go with it.
    ...work permit granted!

    Cheers for all the help.
I kinda know there is nothing I can do ...Just letting off some steam before I go and get the job done.
I will ask around and find somewhere recommended.
The long story is that the service I had in August included an MOT ..But when I tried to apply on-line for car tax it said no MOT ..Old one runs out on the 13th of March ..The car tax was to start next month ..So a bit of a rush ..

I think my Bat Senses must have been playing up that day .

Goldspanners has given you good advice, avoid Kwik Fit and give the business to a decent local garage, like all small businesses they need our custom at the moment.
