Try Lloyds TSB or Nationwide, they were 1750 for my 17yr old son, provisional driver on a clio 1.2. If TSB comes out cheapest go thru topcashback site and get another £75 off.0

My insurance unfortunately is TPFT!
Basic details for me, to maybe make you feel a bit better!
52 Plate Renault Megane Coupe (Insurance group 7)
Mileage per annum - 5000
On driveway
LOW crime rating area
TPFT
To make you feel better, my M reg fiesta (admittedly an Si - group 8) was £1321 per year, but I only had that 3 months, then changed to my Megane, which they charged me £400 to upgrade for just 9 months! So roughly £1900 TPFT a year!!! Haha... Although, I did a quote for it when I did the upgrade, and with the SAME COMPANY (because I'd turned 21), it was £1200, so dont fear, it will go down, faster than you'd think.
I would imagine my insurance would be around the £1000 mark fully comp (hopefully!) for my renewal.
Oh, and my car is insured for a stupid amount of £3500, when it's actually worth £5000!0 -
If your car is 5k then it really should be fully comp if not to protect yourself!!!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

By the way, something I stupidly did not do.
Check the price on confused. THEN contact the insurer direct, and get a better quote

Sara, I know, but I couldnt afford to upgrade the insurance at the time. I will be going fully comp when the renewal is up.
At the time though, I had a crappy old fiesta, and didnt trust it to get me anywhere, and I love travelling, so scraped JUST enough money together to get a nice new car (and one that i might keep for a while) and the insurance upgrade for an extortionate £400!
