Admiral always seem to be advertising that they "love younger drivers". Of course they might really "love younger drivers money".
Car insurance for young drivers is shocking (I remember 10 years ago paying £1000 to insure a 1.4 Ford Escort).
I seem to remember Norwich Union having some funny scheme where you are limited to where and when you can drive but it's cheaper as a result. Not at all sure of the details, but might be worth a look.0 -
Try elephant.co.uk
I got good insurance with them at £500 for a (very) hot hatch with no claims and aged 20.Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
I use Tesco.com. They have been the cheapest for me for the last few years ( although i'm not 17 y.o.)
Also had a £50 cash back voucher from Tesco instore last year.Never buy a stupid dwarf -

Endsleigh and Liverpool Victoria gave me good quotes when I was young on my 206 1.1 (from 19 to 23) but I'm sure being female was in my favour!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

Confused will find the best quote for you. Pretty much guaranteed.
I'm also sorry to say, but that doesnt really sound like an unfair insurance quote.
Don't forget, insurance is calculated on numerous aspects. You may be in a high crime rate zone, or the people you've called arent looking for that type of driver.
I'm 21, and pay £1800ish for a 52 plate, so it's not all bad. That's with 6 points (although gone now), but:
It's on the drive
I have it on a limited mileage policy (5k miles pa)
Extremely low crime zone0 -

I might have been mentioned but adding a parent as a second driver normally reduces the insurance quote!!!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

Just to erm reiterate:
1. Find the best quote through confused.com
2. Find the best quote through insuresupermarket.com
3, Confirm the best price of the top 3
4. See if there's a cashback offer through quidco.com or rpoints, etc
5. Buy insurance!
Also Liverpool-Victoria, bell.co.uk and tesco can be cheap but not always.0
