Candygirl - if you are a loyal customer of 2yrs, you have obviously done ur 12mos stint, can't you sign on with some one else?

Ive been "mad as a fish" now since November - (i feel fine tho!) they have been brilliant. they are currently offering 8mb broadband fpr £11.99 per month - yes £11.99 per month!! This offer is for 6mos and then it goes up to £17.99 per month - think setup cost was £10 for router. CS ace - all be it in S Africa, its 9p a min and very good - only had to call on a couple of techie probs one of which was down to me! this doesn't include any calls tho.

I use 18866 (4p per call, 0p per min) for my calls and them for my broadband. Just signed up for Tesco calls actually to get my 2000 points. I used to be a tiscali customer 2!!

As tiscali take the money off my credit card every month how can I ensure they don't take money after i cancel?

Write a letter to your credit card number - make sure you send it to the right address (sometimes have more than one) and then do it - see if you can change anything in your personal details on the site - but rely on the cc co.

This first thing that any Tiscali user should do is change your payment method to Direct Debit, (you may want to cancel your credit card) so that you are in control and you can cancel the agreement with your bank as and when you chose.

In the mean time you should do some research using adslguide, personal recommendations etc. to find another provider so that you can then obtain your MAC and switch, after you have gained control of your payments.

Tiscali are well known for providing a pathetic service with slow connections, irregular billing and virtually non existent support provided by script reading monkey in Bangalore.

All that they are interested in is taking your money, not providing a good service!

    Quote from http://www.tiscali.co.uk/help/broadband/faq.html#faq27

"Provided you are no longer bound by contract for either of the services, you may cancel your services by calling the

    Broadband cancellation line - Call 0845 077 4488.

It will take approximately 10 to 15 days to release your telephone line. This is because a BT engineer will need to go out to your local exchange to physically disconnect your line from the Tiscali network and to restore the original configuration of your line."
