ok, well it seems fair to me, no one fits kitchens for fun (if you do I will give you job!) so we have to be realistic in the knowledge that a reasonable of greed is to be expected, and if you push it too low they may be unwilling/unhelpful when it comes to when there is inevitably going to be a few issues. I would push for £5k and leave the other £700 in a draw incase of any unforeseen issues that may pop up. If you make that saving then put it towards a holiday!0

What range of kitchen is it?
Oh and Caple appliances are absolute tosh, they are Maurice Lay's (an appliance and fittings distributor) own brand, I'd change to a better brand and pay a little bit more...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Just to touch on the Caple appliances, we sell quite a few of the caple range of appliances, in particular ovens and we have had no complaints to date, touch wood. I guess it's down to personal experience but as a distributor of Caple products I have found them to do the job well.
