A pal of mine can only get dialup. He has an external 3 com US Robotics 56k fax modem, but no power supply.
He has a universal power supply. Does anybody know the voltage and polarity that the modem needs?

The required voltage should be marked on the power socket on the modem.No free lunch, and no free laptop
