Anyone cancelled BT Broadband?

My parents currently live in a non-LLU area and have BT Broadband and are out of the contract period.

They will soon be moving to an LLU area and signing up with O2

According to 'Emma' on the BT website:
You asked me:
Cancel BT broadband

Ending your service outside of the minimum contract period
If you are outside the minimum contract period then we'll charge you £18.11 (including VAT). This is what it costs us to carry out the disconnection work at your local exchange. However, we won't charge you if are switching to another broadband provider using the MAC process. The cease charge is also not applied in cases of death, severe illness, a house move or if you're a BT Basic customer.
So under the house move statement - they should just let us cancel it - are they likely to cause problems and try to charge when I phone them?

Has anyone cancelled BT BB?

If you dont home move the BT broadband to the new address then the cease charge will still apply.

    Hi 456789

I would actually disagree with the last post as I interpret that home move statement differently

It states there that if you are out of contract term with us then we will not charge you if you approach us and request a MAC code.

This is very simple to get, you just need to give us a call and we will be happy to supply the code. This makes the move easier for BT so we dont raise the charge mentioned so I would save as much money as possible and give us a shout!
