bogus company!

Options
Hi Am new to this but don't know where else to go!
Bought face painting products off internet site on 24th February. The company has a P&P policy of 2-3 days. I added to my order that i needed the products by the 7th March. If they couldn't deliver then would it be possible to let me know. Other than a confirmation email of my order I haven't heard another thing from them. I have tried ringing but no one answers. i have recently discovered that the company in question have done this on numerous occasions and have been advised to steer clear. The money was paid through HSBC eserver and visa verification. Can I get my money back? What are my rights? Please help!!

I'm not familiar with the payment method you used, but if it was a credit card then just get your card company to do a chargeback against them, since they have not supplied the goods as they contracted to do.
And put your intentions in writing to the company in question.

Please provide the name of the company and web address and how much you paid for the items in total

The company is https://www.facepaintshop.co.uk and i paid £49.19. I used my visa debit card. DOPE!!!! I noticed on my statement the amount withdrawn is £49.20! Have spent another morning letting the phone ring off the hook! The ring tone sounds like you should be redirected to an answer machine. I don't know what to do!!! The method used to pay is definitely HSBC secure epayments.

You are still covered with your visa debit card, get in touch with the bank and initate a chargeback if possible.

Also I would write to the company at the contact address given to confirm what you are doing.
Might also be worth a call to their local Trading Standards dept-they might be able to tell you if they are still trading.

Not sure if it's much help, but the following number is for Imagination Events running from the same address:

0870 4439143

Couldn't find the landline number for them.

0845 643 9133 is another company, Bubbles Crew Limited, at the same address.

The address appears to be residential, so they probably are all connected. Same kind of businesses too.

Aha! A landline number -
01332 669131. This is for a charity! Breath of Hope. Maybe they can give you the correct contact number, or help you?

The above landline is also the number for Angelbud Web Design.

Sounds like an accomodation address to me then. I would try Trading Standards.

Is there a trading standards office for each area or is there a main office? Apologies for my stupidity!

They're local. Derby is on:
http://www.derby.gov.uk/Business/TradingStandards
That's assuming it's within Derby city limits (DE21). If outside then they can tell you the relevant LA.
