my indoor cat is supposed to nip out and wee but likes a box when it's raining... I use cheapo stuff usually asda's own, and chuck the whole lot every day or two. If I spray the box with neutrodol airfreshner he seems to like that inbetween clear outs. But the litter does tread up the hall.
  • (Bob Martin?) it's the one in a blue plastic pouch that's got the semi-opaque crystals that's odorising, non-clumping type, and that was about £3.40. It's not as big as Catsan but it's certainly better than any of the other types as I found that it didn't 'stick' to the cat's fur/legs and leave a trail of it around the house. This one I believe is the best alternative, if you want to keep your house clean and non-smelly!:rotfl:

Yes, i've used that before a while back & you're right....hardly any odours.
But if i remember rightly - i don't think my Cats liked using it.

Did you know that if you have oil spills on your driveway or garage floor that if you sprinkle cat litter on and trample it in with your wellies on, that it absorbs the oil then you just sweep it up?

I buy the wood pellet stuff for my cats to do their biz in btw.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j

I recently switched to the wood pellet stuff - got a 30 litre bag from the local pet shop for £8.08. My three cats are happy with it and it is good at keeping stinks at bay. I'm looking after a friend's kitten while she's away for the weekend and the kitten has been using it too with no problems. With all of them it was straight onto the wood pellets, no faffing about with half old stuff, half new stuff. I must be lucky, I know how fussy cats can be.

chipbeck - I think the wood pellets could be mistaken for supermarkets own all bran if you're not properly wakened of a morning....

I used to get the wood pellet litter years ago but found it used to get everywhere:mad:

I now use Catsan after trying various other litter. My boys wont use any other:rolleyes: We found it at around £3.70 at a local independant supermarket (even though I think it's been taken over by Tesco:mad: ) Pet shops seem to be more expensive.

I buy it in my weekly food and grocery shop.... but don't eat it;) I'm sure there's things in your food & grocery shop that you don't eat???

  • I went into local Pets At Home to get new brushes for the cats (it moulting time for the 2 of them) yesterday. And for 20 litres of catscan, it was £8.51 & has now gone upto £9.48 ish. So, for my 2 cats, looks like its going to be downgrading for the litter. :D They probably won't like it though
