I think you're right in what you're saying. You'd have to go back to BT line rental to move to V21.
V21 broadband requires activation by BT, so I guess they won't activate a line not having BT line rental.Dave. :wave:0 -
Be careful with V21, I use them & when I enquired about migrating, I was told there's a £30 migration charge. When asked why, the answer was pretty much "because we can!".(possibly because they are not members of oftel either).
I have had pretty good service from them overall, but I refuse to pay to terminate my contract (so I suppose they've won really - because they'll keep on taking my hard earned every month!). All I can do is hit them where it hurts & warn you wonderful people about their shoddy attitude to those who want to leave them!
You’ve been warned

Don't migrate to V21. If you want to leave them you may have to go to court before you get another broadband service and they don't subscribe to Ofcom. Tomorrow morning I expect to be locked out of broadband and so far they've refused to give me a MAC. I'll keep you posted if there's any change. Here's the email I sent them on 23-2-06:
You advised me on 9-1-2006 Ticket ID 119385 that I am not currently in a contract with you. I posted you 28 days written notice of termination of my contract on 8-1-2006 in compliance with your terms and conditions and your advice at the time. I received no reply.
Today 23-2-2006 I received a letter in the post from you stating that you could not collect payment on 16-2-2006 and my account would be placed on hold on 23-2-2006. In response to this letter, and to Ticket ID 119385, I signed up with Madasafish Broadband for 1 year at lunchtime today 23-2-2006.
Your belated change of mind about my contract (Ticket ID 123778) sent 23-2-2006 at 16:51 now stating I'm locked in until 21st September directly contradicts your Ticket ID 119385 and has come far too late. You should have told me that on 9th January. You can't enforce a contract you earlier advised on 9-1-2006 I was not a party to. As a result of your earlier actions I'm now committed to migrating to Madasafish.
I require an MAC. Please email this to (my hotmail address). :mad:0
