thank you so much, i have done as you have said and am pleased to say that so far so good ! i went out to price new laptops today too so you have saved me not only a headache but also money. i thought i had removed norton a long time ago using that tool but having done it just now i realise that it must have got stuck as i didnt get the confirmation box thingy. im so grateful, and you too spanky monkey for noticing, i should have noticed it myself but the penny may not have dropped anyway. my pc was working alot better after you suggested removing those 2 items you told me to get rid of. sorry i couldnt post the other result earlier as it took me 2 hours just to copy and paste the 1st one on. took me 20 mins to even type the help question (which for a touch typist is like all day !). i just couldnt limp it until today when it took me 4 hours to slowly do it. can i please pick your brain one more time. what protection should i have on my pc. i have the zonealarm martin put on here (but am tempted to remove), avg and now your superantispyware you suggested. whats the best combination. thank you so much again for all of your advice and help.

Be a good idea to run COMBOFIX next as a precaution (Post the log it produces too (if you can))

    As for security

    Personally id uninstall SPYWARE DOCTOR
and use the AVG REMOVAL TOOL ~
Use the 32 bit AVG removal tool
    http://www.avg.com/download-tools

    replace with ~
Download AVIRA ANTI VIRUS PERSONAL (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_antivir/

I really dont like zonealarm but when it works it works very well. So leave that for now (Unless you suspect there IS a problem?)

I update and scan with MALWAREBYTES, SUPERANTISPYWARE and SPYBOT alternating weekly

hello, i have spent the lastcouple of days trying to log on but its like the keys do not speak to the laptop, im pressing buttons and my green light isnt flashing like itdoes when its thinking. it takes forever to get up the icons then just stops. its only cos i bought new one today that on the 3rd attempt this one is working! i was ahppy the other day when it worked but it was short lived as had the ame problem since, i really dont know whats wrong with it. i will do combofix and post inthe hope that shows up something but all other scans show nothing.

managed to get on again today after trying a few times. it will not let me run combofix, keeps saying i cannot change its name (?) and wants to close my visage. ive clicked yes and no but does not run any further. ive run spybot, which the man in pc shop (not pc world) said was very good and got rid of 27 trackers but i dont know if that will do it.

    spybots good but not great

    open spybot and UPDATE it
Then goto IMMUNISE and make sure it reads ZERO UNPROTECTED (Click the GREEN PLUS arrow to immunise)

    Combofix ~
click it once, wait then click again. Then RENAME it. Open it now

    (visage?)
