Have you tried places like Premier Inn / Travel Lodge / Hoilday Inn Express, they may well do some kind of deal being long term (6 months) just an idea.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

Yeah I was thinking of Bermondsey (sp?) its cheap as chips and actually in SE1 - there are single rooms there on spareroom for 120pw-150pw - its rough though!

Or a bit further away is mudchute - single rooms there go for 100pw - its on the DLR and close to Greenwich, but again isnt really lovely ;)

    Hope you find something!

Just for info.... I posted ads online with Time Out, sparerooms.com and flatshare.com. Have had over 50 responses, not all within budget but quite a few... just thought I'd share in case anyone else finds themselves in same postion as I do. Can't commit to any as can't afford to comit until April but at least there are things out there.... So still looking..
    Thanks again for all suggestions...

At that price you should be able to get something reasonably easily on gumtree.
What have you calculated for your travel expenses? If you look for walking distance you may save yourself £90 a month on travel, alternatively look at only using the buses.

My suggested approach (usually works for me in umpteen house moves) is to come a week early and have somewhere booked for that first week, if you can find a cheap travel inn deal now it'd help enormously.

Elephant and Castle and Whitechapel would be quite close and relatively cheap.

Money is so tight cant do the Travel inn option, but think I'll see if a friend can let me sleep on sofa for a week or two to sort things.
Can I just say .. you're all bloody brilliant on here... I'm still very up and down coming to terms with the situation I've got myself into, but the encouragement and support you all give helps enourmously... thank you

    Well done on the job.

Might not be able to help although I do live in North Surrey with easy reach (30 mins by train) to central London. House a bit run down (am in debt so can't afford much!), have 2 cats....apart from that.
Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free :)
    Mortgage free since 2014 :)
