Tuesday 10/3/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Today i will:
- check online banking - only 3 days to pay day
- update spreadsheets
- move some money to savings
- make a loaf in breadmaker
- storecupboard lunch and tea
- laundry hokey cokey for OH
- ironing for me
- reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
- swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
- aim for no spend day
- sparkle a lot
- use lots of smilies to cheer me up
Good morning lovely dfw's

Morning all!
Getting on here early(ish) today in an attempt to get myself in gear and get something done!
MrsA - bet you are excited about doing your invites? Hope you had a nice Birthday!
Fay - very annoying about your door. Hope it doesn't cost too much to replace. Very windy here yesterday too - was cleaning SIL's house (very old thatched cottage) and there were lots of spooky creaks and groans!!!!
Right. Here's my list for today:
* Check on line banking - done
* Storecupboard lunch and tea
* Pay Studio
* Think about doing ironing that didn't do yesterday
* Look for stuff to ebay
* Do any surveys that come in
* See how much SIL needs towards flowers and champagne being sent to Mum on her birthday (and keep fingers crossed its not too much:eek: )
* See if friend available for coffee tomorrow
* Price up hamsters and cages (don't ask!!!)
* Transfer money into paypal from survey site
Thats about it to be going on with I think!
Miss P

Miss P
Freecycle v good for hamsters and cages.
We got one cage from ebay as well - prior to my knowing about freecycle.
IMHO - guinea piggies nicer than hamsters (for kids) - but dont tell HP.
Did you forget ironing was illegal???
Door - hmm I could have kicked myself - typical me - more haste less speed.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hi all
Off and running again on another lovely sunny day but I had to scrape the ice off the car at 6.30 a.m. this morning.
Today
Working overtime until 9 tonight(That's another £100 less tax ) Great to have a job when I hear about all the redundancies going about. I just hope I don't become a victim.
Showered with hotel soap and shampoo gained on a recent break.
Central heating off while wife and I are at work.
Check bank balances ( I am expecting a £67 odd refund from BT for overpayment on D/D)
Drove cannily to work.
Sandwiches for lunch.
No spend day ( no D/Ds or S/Os to come off bank account until 15th. I can accumulate a few no spend days before then.)
Walk in the sunshine at lunchtime. It's free and makes me feel great.
Home made soup and a roll for supper tonight. God, I sound like Scrooge, it'll be gruel next.
Window shop when I'm out for my walk and spend Zilch.
Office tea and milk used while working overtime. ( Nice wee perk)
Forgot to pick up my mobile this morning. It is Pay As You Go so I won't spend any money on mobile calls.
Read newspapers online.
That's enough for one day. Hope all you other DFWs are keeping going. The journey can be enjoyable and reaching the destination..... well, what can I say?0
