Too be honest when i heard the news this morning, my heart sank. Nobody wants to go back to the troubles but i fear that now this has happened it will continue.

I really hope that the peace will stay and that my kids don't have to live through it as alot of us did.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

  • I agree with everyone totally here, if this starts again I am out of this country too. That’s not to say that somewhere else is better but it would be safer to live.

Did anyone see Spotlight on last night??

I agree with the parties being united but still some people will try to mix things up!!

They and we need to stop this we need to stick together push these people out of our society and get the economy back on its feet again!!
  • As a proud Irish Protestant married to a Proud Irish Catholic with young children (Both being brought up in the catholic religion) I do dispair at these tragic circumstances. I thought this was all in the past. Yes you still have the odd riot, stone throwing etc but very few instances of shootings...

It really is not he sort of environment that I would want to bring my children up in and as echoed in some previous posts, I would seriously consider leaving N.Ireland/Ireland if things do start to get any worse.

I find it unbelievable to think that these SCUM think they are achieving anything in what they do. Do they really think that the Irish Government would want to unite Ireland as one "Nation" and welcome these lowlifes??
Any person I've ever spoken to from the Republic in the past (Be they Protestant or Catholic) have all had the same thoughts on the uniting of Ireland. They don't want to touch us with a barge pole... and the incidents over the past couple of days are exactly the reason why...

my heartfelt condolances go out to the familys of those who have been killed and I pray that thats the last of it!

    My feelings are mutual.
  • It has changed and become a whole lot more peaceful but i feel there is still a petty divide, in certain areas or at certain events you can see some people going over my surname and wondering what religion i am, i know not everybody is like this anymore but it still feels like it's there and i really think there is more to worry about in the world. My parents left a few years ago because they believed that the troubles would eventually start up again, and i'm starting to think they might be right, but i really hope they aren't and feel so much sympathy for the families it is so sad and such a waste of lives and for what?! :(

  • I didn't see the spotlight programme but i believe there is another one on this evening about the policeman. Think i will watch it.

you know something, I don't even think its about religion any more, its just some idealogical idiots who believe killing is the way to achieve what they want.......isn't this what the al qieda idiots are doing also? the world has changed massively since the early 1900's and the sooner these scumbags realise it, the better, its time for certain people to step up to the plate and pass on whatever information they have for all our sakes and for our childrens futures, I lived through it, I don't want to have to start explaining to my young son what all the news is on the tv and radio about where he lives............
