Utility Warehouse Pig - Help!!!!

I have just phoned Utility Warehouse to cancel my subscription to the phone service and was told that I need to return the pig that was sent to me over two years ago or I will be charged for it. They would not tell me how much I would be billed. Trouble is, I think I might have thrown it out as I can't find it. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't remember being told when I took the subscription out that I would have to return it or I would be billed so perhaps I could argue against it? Any advice would be gratefully received!

In case anyone is not aware the Telecom Plus Smart Box/call router is in the shape of a Pig!!!
Your find that hidden away in their contracts t&c that you must have signed they remain the property of Telecom Plus at all times, and if you dont return it when you cease service you will be charged for replacing it.PF.0 -

The thought occurred to me they are not much use to them anymore as they now deliver calls by cps.PF.0 -

Thanks for your input (below) qadri.
As long as it doesn't make you fat as well .......
P.S. To a pensioner, £29.99 is food for nearly two weeks.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
that's illegal, immoral & frankly a stupid suggestion!!
if u gonna break the law, put yerself at risk, be a crook & lose your integrity....
at LEAST do it for lots money & make it WORTHWHILE !!

Know someone who does TP and yes it does say in the small print on the back that it remains the property of UW, and if not returned, you will have to pay them the cost of replacing such items. This also includes SIM cards and broadband modems that they supply.0 -
Disgraceful amount to charge for a small plastic box that diverts your calls.Heres what Martin says about this ? outfit. I quote.
"Utility Warehouse. The multi-utility provider (also called Telecom Plus) has sometime been the cheapest energy provider. It is a ‘network marketing’ organisation, which means it's sold by current customers, who are paid commission, to their friends and family.
This means its customers often evangelise about its pricing unbeatability, based on marketing info. Yet, this simply isn’t true. The pricing structure involves discounts the more utility services are taken. However, Telecom Plus’s home phone service especially should be avoided as it is uncompetitive (see Cheapest Home Phones)."
The Chief Executive is Charles Wigoder . Might be worth writing to him direct and asking what they are playing at.PF.0
