Hi money savers
Am trying to get a cheaper package for broadband and phone calls. Currently use BT option 4 broadband (£29.99p/m) and BT together Option 1 on the telephone (about £35 p/m). .
Tiscali offering £19.99 all in (will still have to pay BT line rental) but still represents a saving of around £30 per month. Is this too good to be true?
Was looking at HomePhone with Post Office but am told that I can't have BT Broadband with this. Is this true?
USwitch say AOL for broadband and Post Office for phone so am confused now!
Please help!!
Many thanks

Sorry - it is but I included what I currently spend on calls. My teenage son keeps calling his girlfriend's mobile during the night. Last month 44 calls = £17! Should I kick him out?
Cheers

Hahaha £17/month isn't that bad - think what it could have been if it was a teenage daughter!

Do you know what your monthly broadband usage is? Becuase you can get cheaper than £19.99/month if you are a low-usage user.0 -
Im not up on who offers what but I would say stay away from..

Think husband may have gone overboard with wanting top-of-the-range broadband so better ask before I reduce this.
Again - teenage son (he lives in the loft) has wireless internet connection and is constantly downloading who knows what - maybe I should ask him but do I want to know?
Thanks anyway :T0 -

Tiscali are awful - stay well away!
You can compare providers at ADSLguide; they also have forums where you can read opinions on various ISPs.

Have a read of Martin's article on broadband here although being a money saving website this is looking at what is currently the cheapest whereas you say your husband may want a bb supplier which is more top of the range.
Then check out the article on cheapest way to use your home phone here
which recommends you keep BT as your line rental on Option 1 and put your calls through Primus for free evening and w/end calls to 01/02 numbers.
As regards daytime calls use https://www.call1899.co.uk and for the mobile calls one of the cheapest is https://www.call18185.co.uk.

Thanks Money savers for all your help. :T
I contacted BT (in india I think!). They offered me an instant discount of £3 per month on Option 4 - same price as option 3.
The bonus was I didn't pay for the call so got £36 off for the year!
Also, now don't have to change e-mail address.
On to the telephone - thanks Edinburgh lass. Perhaps I won't have to kick out teenage son after all!
