    Hi Ben,

No, this alarm system is not maintained by anyone.

Do you think an engineer reset would work as per page 16 & 17 in the document: http://www.securitycentres.co.uk/Manuals/808.pdf ?

Would it be worth a try?

I noticed two codes (1234 and 7890) mentioned on page 8, would these help?

    Thanks a lot.
    Regards.

It might be worth a try,tbh the codes will probably have been changed as the codes in the manual are standard for all Scantronic systems.

    Try 0 - 7890-enter
    Then 99 enter
It will probably say exit eng? Press enter and see what happens.
If this doesnt work then you might need to crash the system and reprogramme it or otherwise you may need to get someone in to do it.I take it you have just moved into the premesis? What company name is on the bell?

    Ben.

    Hi again Ben,

Yes, the alarm system was already installed when I moved in.

I will try the three steps which you've mentioned, one after the other.

I'll do this tomorrow morning and let you know what happens.

    Kind regards.

Oh, I forgot to say above, the bell box outside has no company name or logo.

It's just a rectangular white plastic box with two dark panels on either side. There is currently a green led flashing on the left hand panel.

    Don't know if this helps.

    Cheers.

Yep thats the one that should 'click' when you put the lid back on.If you want it working and reset it might be worth asking your neighbours who have alarms to recommend someone.

    Hi Ben,

    I just done this: 0 - 7890-enter

and the display said SYSTEM RST OK

It does not show any errors now - just the time.

I did not do the '99 enter' as you said. Should I still need to do this?
or do you think the system is back to normal now?
if so, should i just try setting the alarm as normal as a check?

    Thanks a lot.
    Regards

    Hi Ben,

The panel display looks ok for the last two days, just got the time on it.

I have set the alarm - seemed normal.
I entered the house and unset it - seemed normal with no errors on the panel.

It looks like the system is back to normal :j

I assume there is nothing else to do.

    Thanks.
    Best regards
