I have been disqualified and ordered to resit an extended test, will doing a pass plus also be of benfit with regards to cheaper insurance and which insurees give the greatest discounts for obtaining a pass plus.
Is there any insurers or further driving schemes I should also be looking at to help reduce my insurance costs?

How long have you been disqualified for and did you have any no claims bonus before0

I was given a 12 month ban for dangerous driving and drink driving, which I have already served 6 months due to an early plea of guilty to the drink driving at magistrates, I took the dangerous driving charge to crown court and eventually pleaded guilty to it on the advice of my solicitor.
I had 1 yrs NCB prior to this, I'm unsure if there is a time limit to these but I hadn't drove for around 4-5 years prior to this, and the 1 yrs NCB is probably from around 7 years ago, would it still be valid/do they run out?0 -
When did the Insurance you had the 1 years no claims bonus run out?>0

Your no claims bonus is no good then.
I have not heard of anyone giving a discount for a pass plus iif you have a DD and a DR10 but thats not to say there is no one that will. The way to find out is to run some quotes through with and without the Pass Plus to see if it makes any difference.
If your premium is massive eg over a £1000 a broker might be able to use the Pass Plus to persuade an Insurer to give you a bit of a discount or take you on when they would normally say no but you would have to ask.
The Pass Plus is very helpful for young drivers as it teaches you how to drive eg at night and on motorways etc.
When were you convicted0 -

with your driving record i would say pass plus would make little difference
drink driving is treated as something you would be likely to do again0 -
It was only recently so I have another 5 months to serve of it.
I ran some quotes last night without the pass plus as I couldn't find anywhere to input such details and the cheapest was around £3700 for an Audi A4 Quattro 3.2 reg 05.0 -
i think your first stop is to get realistic on the cars you get quotes for0
