Write to the head office and I'm sure they will send you vouchers for free meals next time.

Have to say I'm surprised at some of the comments on here, i don't think it really should matter whether the pub was 'cheap' or the most expensive pub in the world. It is an advertised family pub chain and the standards were far below adequate. There were teenagers in the little kids play area, jumping all over the equipment in a very dangerous way with no staff stopping them. This then led to the fighting, which then led to the dads of the teenagers fighting. Yes, fights happen in pubs, but it wasn't a Friday night booze up session, it was a Sunday afternoon in a family pub and the staff didn't do much to defuse the situation. They eventually threw one of the men out. It was very scary for a four year old.

As with regards the toilet, the manager admitted to me that although they should be checked every hour, they hadn't been checked all afternoon. It probably was just one act of vandalism, but I think that on top of everything that happened was enough. The food was slow, we waited 20 minutes to get one portion of children's ice cream! I think I at least have a duty to let the head office know what's going on at that branch. I will write a letter and take it from there.

I agree that your experience fell below the accepted standard for any eating establishment. They are not responsible for the actions of others, but they are responsible for dealing with it correctly. They are responsible for the food, service and cleanliness of the premises. I would write and ask for a refund,in cash, not in vouchers,as who would want to repeat that experience?

Tell the manager not to let the toilet run out of toilet paper again

I'm going to send a letter, but I don't really know what to ask for as compensation?
