Yes, I know what you mean, Dave. There's nothing worse than an ex-owner inspecting your every move :rotfl:

We'd also like a change of lifestyle in our older years. Not exactly sure what lifestyle, though :rotfl:
Something less tying which allows more time to visit people & places we'd like to. Something smaller & easier to look after which we can lock up & leave. Absolutely no idea where. We'll worry about that when this place sells. Preferably somewhere with less annual rainfall

I want a whopping great property with an indoor and outdoor school with a large stable block and tack/feed room. A few acres with woodland and a small burn. There would be plenty of off road hacking all around.

There would be space for chickens, llamas and barns for rescue animals. In the garden there would be a pottery and craft studio. A veggie garden, herb garden, cuttings garden and an orchard.

A large pond and wildlife area would be set away from the hubbub of the yard and there would be nest boxes and bug hotels dotted about. A giant greenhouse - heated and self watering with lovely wooden shelving would be next to a giant potting shed and a stones throw away from my poly tunnels.

There would be plenty of lovely places to sit around the garden with little hidden seats, many of which would be carved out wood and some sculptures.

If I have missed anything I will add it is later :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You forgot the fruit garden ;) other than that it sounds perfect :T
Right, if I sell now I could afford the pond and wildlife area...well it's a start, I could pitch a tent

ive got a decent size house,a decent size but mainly woods garden, the plot over the road for mabel, natural bogs/ponds in the woods, the sea a half mile stroll down a rural lane, fields to 2 sides....picturesque ??? well yes but bl**dy hard work !! :D i do love a challenge tho !:)
the more "natural"/organic the garden the harder work it is...chemicals can half if not quarter the effort just in clearing/maintaining stuff !
BUT... i dont like to use them unless it warrants it ie stingers !! ;)
having the land agent here today made me think....im lucky ! albeit i have no mains power ,i have fresh air [seem to live on it sometimes !:o]. i think ive said before some large estates are more than pleased to have people who work on thier plot and rents are cheap !:)

All true....... I'll just add bracken to the nettles on the chemical front. Having spent 3 days every week through the first 5 summers we were here scything or strimming the stuff  I now happily let the bracken get sprayed.

Wanna swap for a 3 bed maisonette in London with tiny garden (accessed via side door into communal side ally pass 2 other gardens then into mine) garden would be low maintenance but I garden organic, and refuse to believe it's not bigger, I can see the local park from my back windows and the petrol station neon lights beyond, local pound shops abound, traffic always drives slowly and carefully 'cause there's too much to go any faster than 10mph and the beach is only 2 hour nail bitingly slow frustrating drive away. The air smells.....well it just smells! and the birds can be heard clearly at 4 am in the summer only other than that the traffic drone wins.
have I sold it to you :rotfl: I'm an honest ex estate agent ;)

Ah yes the fruit garden and the medicinal garden :D

If anyone knows of a place that fits my description that is free and requires no money for upkeep please let me know ;)

Oh and if they can throw in a Fresian Schoolmaster and an Irish Wolfhound then my joy would be complete :D

Alfie i live just outside swansea.. in the swansea valley...

not much to report really same poo different day..

going to knuckle down this month and try and save some more pennies, as i should imagine it will not be long before land/places will start coming onto the market..

dont know if i have said... but rumours have it the building of the supermarket is due to start soon:o

I think this year i am going to put all my energy into getting wongas, and only growing a few things... as i must be honest... over the last year or so i have been spreading my self a bit thinley.. and not really mastering one thing....( basically losing the plot a bit:p)
