welcome!
I'm sure you'll catch up as you go along.
I'm no closer to deciding what to do about the field changes. I think I'll have some sheep popped on it If I can find someone who only wants a month grazing. OTOH, the dogs have come into season, so it means I'll be stuck walking them here, and sheep mean more of a hassle for that.....0 -

sorry rozee, Rural Payments Agency....they kep a map of defined boundaries for the purposes of establishing what grants over what acrage people might be entitled too.
So, we kept out a small paddock, the chicken paddock, another tiny patch that is out of control that might one day be another poultry spot for summer (would be nice for chick rearing I think) or might be for something else, plus the veg plot land, the ''lake'' and the bit that will be the orchard....one day. Primarily I kept these bits out because of the Soil association thing, I want to keep all that simple, and its easy to consider all the land where we get a single farm payment, might also be eligable for soil association grant...its just simpler. I still haven't definitely decided the SOil association thing. Our weeds are so widespread I can't help thinking it would be nice to have one spraying year before sining on the dotted organic line....but otoh, seems rather to be beside the point...and would be be a longer transition period, atm I'm eligable for just a twelve month transition, rather than 24.0 -

Just curious
And I just found out today, that my allotment should be ready for next spring, which will take alot of pressure off the garden for big crop stuff.
And give more space for the new chucks, also in the spring.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I've got 2.997 acres to be precise lol0

where is choille?
its proper autumn weather today, I had that moment in bed when I wondered how much I REALLY needed to get up into the cold air, surely everything would be alright if I just had twenty minutes more in the nice warm bed......but get up I did, and the air is full of moisture, that kind of moisture that seems too wet for mist alone, but isn't rain.0 -
It's like that here too LIR. Had to put my coat on when I went to let the chickens out because it's a bit nippy.0
