Troglodyte, I would love some Jerusalem Artichokes if you think they would post (unless you are anywhere near Cornwall
)
Would happily pay postage (and let me know if there are any seeds you would like in return).
Haven't had these for years, but I do remember growing these when I lived in London and making glorious soup from them.0 -
Anyone else want Jeruselem artichokes. Probably Fuseau (the less knobbly ones). Made the mistake of clamping a few the year before last and forgetting them.
They produce small sunflowers in September as well.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I think they make everybody fart.:D0 -
I find them very windy if made into Palestine soup, unbearable actually.
But par-boiled and then sauted or roasted they do not cause the same problems.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Not The Queen, surely? :eek:
They make very nice soup, but the side effects are still a problem. We are relegating ours to the far corner of our plot. May try again one day.0 -

I went to a wedding once where the champagne flowed very liberally, more liberally than any place else....and I've drunk a LOT of bubbles in my time... Then instead of standing and circulating, or dancing, or anything, we were all seated quite quickly all of a sudden...and by then everyone had had at least a bottle... So...nothing dissapated. Consequently about 2/3rds of the ways through the first course everybody started farting little champagne bubble farts. EVERYBODY. It was quite hilarious.....but not at the beginning. eventually, it reached a crescendo over the poussins and had petered out by the time we were dancing and eating cake.0 -
We've been agonising about the drainage from two buildings here, really in a quandry, now that we've decided on site for our drainage fro the house, where the barn will drain to without polluting our water and the expense of rechannelling. Months we've spent wondering about this. Only today did I twig that we could simply drain them in the opposite direction, on to a back border. why not?0
