I sold about 150 CDs through them the service was prompt and I got a cheque no problem, I could ahve sold them on eBay or Amazon but as far as I was concerned it was too much hassle and they might not all sell.

I agree the prices weren't great but it worked for me overall...

I think fatboy has quite simply explained the attraction of using musicmagpie for selling stuff. No hassle, mass clear out, one trip to the PO, amount of time saved - lots!
Imagine how much time it would take to individually list, package, deal with customers, emails etc for the sale of 150 cds, and then how long it would take for you to actually sell all of them!

A lot of people on here seem to undervalue their time, and if they calculated correctly their hourly rate earned they would be horrified to learn that people in the devoloping world work for a higher hourly rate.

Sure, if you know that your Liberace boxset is worth £50, you would sell it seperately, but for standard chart fodder and for speed of clearing your shelves and recieving payment Magpie doesn't realy have any rivals!

I sold loads of CDs, games and DVDs recently through Musicmagpie and made quite a bit of money. I agree that some of the prices aren't very good, but I feel good having got rid of loads of stuff in one go.
