This will make your decision easier:

I bought BARC on Friday 27th February 2009 and my investment stands at -35%

Excuse my stupidity:confused: But what is "BARC"??

Past Performance doesnt guarantee future returns - for all I know bank shares could double or half by this time next week - nobody knows!

That's what makes it an adventure :D I'm down by about 10 percent atm on Lloyds and Barclays, but still holding on tight

The problem with banks now, is that nobody knows how much of the stuff on their books will turn bad, whether it's a defaulted mortgage (with at least a tangible asset) or these strange derivatives. If there are further big loses this year, they'll be back - cap in hand - to the government to bail them out because nobody else will. If the amount is too big or it happens too often then the government will end up with 100% whether it wants to or not and the shareholders get nothing! Bank shares are a gamble - make sure it's money you don't mind losing!

    Been wondering the same thing.

I'm not going to take the plunge but think LTSB could rise 10% or more this week from the lows today.

Damn! Wish I had taken my own advice - I'd be 9% up in a day - but then I could also be 20%+ down too by the end of the week.

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
