I just thought I would let you know I just received an e-mail from 3 telling me that I had won a dongle, I am so chuffed I have never won anything decent in my life before.

I don't mind having to top it up as I spend a lot of time in hospital so I will make great use of it.

After getting email to say I was one of the lucky ones too, I checked site only to realise that I can't, it seems, use it with my linux OS netbook :rolleyes:.

That said, it does seem as if it can be used as 4GB removable storage on my main XP comp, so still well worth receiving . Thanks OP.

Officially no, however you can.

Although the ZTE MF627 can be VERY awkward to get working, it can be done.

Sell it and get a Huawei (E169) instead. The E169 is the only current 3 dongle (at last check) that can take advantage of the speed increases due this year.

Plus the E169 is plug and play in Ubuntu 8.10 using Network Manager 0.7. Just plug it in, select the modem, choose the country/network, and that is it.
