    Is castor oil expensive?
And do you use moistueriser as well? or just on the days you arent doing your oil cleansing?

I always use a moisturiser. The oil is a little drying as it really does deep clean, takes a bit too get your head round but it's true :) I use a light day cream every morn and more heavy duty stuff at night after whichever cleansing treatment I've used.

Thanks for all the advice on this method. I have blackheads on my nose and chin and congested forehead (woo hoo!), no amount of beauty products have shifted them

I'm going to try this at the weekend when I buy some caster oil and give it a go. My onslaught of reducing the amount of beauty products I stockplie continues! :D

No more Eve Lom for me after this (not that I rate it particularly anyway!):p

    I use teaspoons. :)

    25% = 1teasp castor ; 3 teasp other oil
    33% = 1 teasp castor: 2 teasp other oil
    50% is half n half

I started with 25% and have stuck there more or less. Found going more 33% didn't make a difference for me. We are all different though so play around a bit to see what works best for you.

For the cloths, I use smart price face cloths in the hot water and repeatedly wring out use and rinse. It goes in wash after treatment for doing with the towels.

Right, I got my castor oil this morning for £2.99 at local chemist, have made up 'approx' in an old massage oil bottle, 25% castor oil and the rest vegtable oil.
Used my old 'cleanse & polish' cloth from liz earle (oh changed days)
Moisturised afterwards, will do it every second day and report back on my minging pores!

After cleansing and using tissue to cushion, I gently apply a little squeeze to the areas worst affected. The gunk pops right out :j

Don't apply much pressure as you don't want to bruise, but this may help.

  • I bought a fab little gadget on ebay a few weeks ago for mine and have to say its the best few pounds I have ever spent seems to get all the rubbish out.

Long link sorry as I don't know how to shorten them but there are lots of these gadgets and so far well worth the money especially if you want very quick results just make sure you use it at night first few times to give skin chance to settle after
