Cash Back Deals

I am looking at deals on E2Save which offer cash back, effectively reducing the monthly line rental to about £5 over the life of the contract. I have no experience of these deals. Do they do what they say?

I have just taken a deal from them, having looked at many comments on this site.
I got this e-mail from them this morning:-

"This e-mail contains IMPORTANT information of how to claim your line rental / cheque back reward as part of your recently placed order. Please read the redemption info below for a step by step guide to the procedure for claiming your gift.

Your Unique Order Reference Number is *********

REDEMPTION INFO (12 Months FREE Line Rental):

A credit of £110.00 will be raised automatically by cheque within 2 months if you do not cancel your contract. You will receive a text message when this credit has been successfully raised.

To gain the remainder of your line rental / cash back please send your 4th, 8th and 12th monthly bills within 30 days of the date stated on the relevant airtime bill, to us and we will credit you by cheque with £63.33 each time.

This will save you £300.00 over the 12 month duration of the contract. In effect this means that your average line rental per month over the contract period is £0.00 per month.

When sending in your claim, securely attach the appropriate chequeback voucher to the airtime bill (chequeback vouchers can be found in your Welcome Pack).

Please send each claim by RECORDED DELIVERY within 1 month of the date of each of your network airtime bills with a covering letter detailing your daytime contact numbers, to the following address:

    Chequeback Offers, P.O. Box 4259, Wednesbury, WS10 7WZ

    Remember to:
    1. Enclose the appropriate airtime bill
    2. Enclose the appropriate chequeback voucher
    3. Enclose a covering letter with your contact numbers
    4. Send the claim via recorded delivery

The due amounts will be sent to you via cheque within 28 days of receipt of your claim."

General advice on this site suggests using special delivery instead of recorded delivery. There are lots of comments about cash back on this forum.

I got this reply to my enquiry with them which I sent this morning:-

"A photocopy of the bill will be fine. We usually suggest that you send it
by recorded delivery as that way you are ensured that the Royal Mail will
    deliver it to us."

  • I tend to shun away from these "cashback" schemes, as most of my friend's who have purchased from onestopphoneshop, e2save and other online discount mobile tariff stores have always had some sort of problem with getting their promised money back. It's almost always delayed and requires additional phone calls/letters to chase it up which of course costs money.

Personally if I was looking for a new phone on a monthly tariff, I would look for places that give you the monthly discount instantly instead of promising to pay you back x amount after x months if you send them x amounts of bills in the allocated time period while standing on your head and singing the national anthem.

I cannot fault them so far.....CPW and E2Save over the last few years have both come up fine. got one going with Mobileshop now but no cashback for a couple of month yet.
I would always go for these, so what if its a extra phone call or a letter, at the end of the day I will and in the past have paid virtually nothing for a free mobile and a 12 month contract with inclusive mins and texts.
Only downside is if the firm goes bump, but thats a price I'm willing to pay coz I'm well up over the years.
