Options
We have BT Landline with Connctions in all rooms.

We have recently Subscribed to Wanadoo.

How do we use Wanadoo Internet from all rooms using different PC, Laptop.

What Hardware, Software, Connctions, Wiring etc would we need.

Would that allow simultaneous access.

  • Probably best to pop into the Techie Questions board as the answers are there and loads of knowledgable people to help you.

Not that there aren't knowledgable people here of course ;)

Wireless adsl router is your best option and wireless laptop and desktop cards for your laptops and desktops. Netgear products comes highly recommended but cost a little more than other brands.

    Take a look below:

  • It's probably going to cost a bit, as I use Wanadoo and have a desktop and a laptop in rooms away from where the phone line is.

If you have recently joined them though, remember that you're in a 12 month contract. There are deals out there that don't tie you in that might just be better.

I'm passed the 12 month stage so could change, but just haven't due to too many other things going on.

If you have kids, X-Box Live is great - it's the only thing I've got connected via a cable though.

Wanadoo is just the provider of your internet.

Its how you connect your machines to it you need to look at.

how many pc's /laptops are you looking at connecting?

would you be happy with wires runing between pc,s or would you prefer wireless..?
  • all you have to do is subscribe to wireless & talk £22 99 a month and they send u a live box kit. You get the live box (modem) which after going through the software set up you can say for instance be downstairs hooked up to the playstation as long as there is a phone connection in the room (this is where the box goes) and you are provided with a wireless connector (which is a silver box credit card size) which fits into your computer into a usb port. The computer is now wirelessly connected to the internet and the playstation or laptop is also connected on line
