I'm assuming that the phone was on a contract ?
Can I ask why your husband didn't cancel the contract at the same time he sold the phone and cut up the sim card ?
If he had cancelled the contract, surely the bill would be the responsibility of the mobile phone company, not your husbands.0 -
Is the "China phone company" ligit? Or could that be the "con"? Ie, there are no calls really at all, and an individual has invented a company, and now giving out "bills"?0

The thing that screams 'fraud' at me here is that it is a Chinese mobile phone company, who I assume your husband has never dealt with. In which case get them to show you proof of the contract between them and your husband. Something tells me that they might struggle."MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? IF WORD GETS OUT THATI'M MISSING FIVE HUNDRED GIRLS WILL KILL THEMSELVES."0

Maybe I'm mistaken but I think a couple of you are getting the wrong end of the stickcalls made from China phone company say hes responsible.calls made from China (full stop goes here) phone company say hes responsible.
On another note, I do concur with the question of why the contract wasn't cancelled. Not that I think you should pay for the calls.0 -
If the contract wasn't cancelled - you could be liable for disconnection charges and fee's to end the contract etc.. I would have looked into this before selling the phone or recycling etc...
If it had no sim then no call charges should have been able to be made on your contract.
Even if the memory card was left in it wouldn't have more than names and phone numbers in it - not enough to access the contract etc....
Some companies ask for the phone back at the end of a contract also. Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0
