Dining table/chairs £80 cheaper than when i bought it 3 wks ago!!

Does anyone know how i stand on the following issues please?

I bought a dining table & chair set from Harveys three weeks ago for £279. It's advertised in the News of the World today for £199!!
I would normally just curse my luck, but on this occasion it's really wound me up as they are messing me about with a replacement table & two of the six chairs that were damaged!

Do i have any rights to a refund of the difference because i have not received all of the goods yet maybe?
If they mess me about much longer, i'd like to tell them to take the whole lot back & give me a full refund, but i dont know if thats possible either.
Help!! Please!!

Thanks for any thoughts.

If the price had gone up, would you be asking us if you could pay them the extra?

Prices go up and down, you were obviously happy with the price when you purcased the set, otherwise, you wouldn't have purchased it...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Was £699 so not a bad buy.

The problem you have is that you have already accepted some of the items (at that price) and I'm guessing you accepted their decision to replace the other parts - or you told them to replace them. Doing that suggests to them that you are happy with the deal.

However, due to its size, no one would expect the whole table & chair set to be replaced if some of them are okay. i.e. If you'd bought a set of cutlery or a chess set, returning the whole thing would be the normal thing to do as they are easier to carry back to a shop.

I think its a tricky one and you should ring up their customer service dept. to see when the replacement parts will arrive. If they say you'll get it soon, explain you find it very stressful waiting and that you'd rather send it all back now for a full refund. If they say its too late to do that, suggest they could try their best to offer you a partial refund/discount for the inconvenience and stress.
It might be worth a try for the price of a phone call.

Too bad so sad. No you have no rights at all as you accepted the price and they dispatched the goods. The items being damaged is now completely seperate to the current sale price.

The only way you could have taken advantage is if you rejected the goods under DSR and re-purchased them.
