Tomatoes in Bottles: Upside down growing
Hi,
My searching skills have let me down
I read on here that it was possible to grow tomatoes in 2L drinks bottles hung upside down.
I wanted to try that this year to see how it goes.
Howevers wasn't sure which kind of tomatoes to get for them. Was thinking tumbling toms for simplicity.
Was going to buy small plants from garden centre and there are so many varieties to choose from!
Any advice or pointing to the right links would be great.

I have been looking at doing this by using some of the 5 litre bottles of water that I bought from Tesco.
If you search for upside down plants on www.youtube.com you should find a few on there, here is one I had a look at, I suppose you could use strawberry or tumbling tom plants around the top of the basket instead of the flowers that she uses.

Here are another couple of sites that I have looked at.

Thanks sb44
The link from instructables looks like one of the ones I was looking at in the past.
The other one I remember reading recommended using a heat gun so you could push the neck back in to the main bottle. This give you a small resovoir for water and helps to prevent soil spilling out.
EDIT: looks like that one was also on instructables

Thanks again0 -
Looks excellent. Those YouTube videos also lead me to Aquaponics, but it's all a bit bizarre so might just stick to the upsidedown tomatoes.
