travel insurance experiences

hi does anyone have any experience with travelinsuranceweb.com? they seem to be the cheapest for my holiday to australia inc scuba diving to 50m @ £40 but i was wondering if anyone has had any dealings or problems with them as this is around £30 cheaper than the next big name insurer.

cheers

I've had insurance with them for the last 2 years, never had to claim though
    I haven't got one!

Likewise, cheapest and best benefits for our family annual worldwide, but never claimed. Won't renew this year as they cost more for our needs now. Going to try Columbus.

I received a letter from them yesterday - and it states that the policy will be automatically renewed, unless I contact them to cancel!

It is a bit ironic that they sent out a renewal letter with correct details and on time, but could not manage to do the same when I wanted to claim; which they could not be bothered to settle. I will NOT be renewing or going back to them in the future.

If you need peace of mind, I would steer clear of this firm.

Someone stated in the thread below that Columbus is owned by the same company or rather they share the same address...

We have only tried to claim on travel insurance once, that was with Zurich booked through a local broker. Our luggage was delayed for 3 days by Air France, went to the broker with all the receipts for clothes ect..., they wouldn't take the claim at that point. Woman said it had to go through the airline first, it was their responsibility, then if they didn't pay up the travel insurance would look into it. (wasn't happy about that at first...) Turned out Air France paid out every penny claimed, and extra £100 goodwill. Moral of story, don't have too much faith in companies making claims easy??

have you looked into the diving thing as its very unusual for a company to offer std insurance for below 30m? I ususlly take out a specialist annual policy which covers me to dive to whatever depth my qualifications cover me for or deeper if on a course etc
