Find me the cheapest steel bath

Hi I'd like to get a steel bath when we redo our bathroom but all I can find is baths that cost £200+ including delivery.
So far only found one cheaper at victoria plumb but have heard bad stories about them.
Who can help me? Preferred dimensions are 1700x700 but have a bit of flexibility on size if the price is right.
Many thanks

£82.90 for a Roca steel bath but only if you live down south from that supplier (check postcodes at bottom of page as that price is only for their local deliveries). Other suppliers do it for £149.0

Thanks TomsMom
I found this: http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=20001&partNumber=1601477&c_3=3%7Ccat_12446356%7CBaths%7C12446372&c_2=2%7Ccat_12079466%7CBaths%7C12446356&c_1=1%7Ccategory_root%7CBathroom%7C12079466
which I think we'd be quite happy with (unfortunately no local delivery on the one in post 2) Does it look ok? Anything glaringly wrong with it? Just seems to much cheaper than everything else lol

I don't know much about the quality of Homebase's baths but I understand that Roca is a good make (just had a basin/unit for our house renovation and Roca came highly recommended). Is £149 out of your price range then?
One thing about the Homebase bath is the acrylic panel - be aware that most acrylic panels are fairly flimsy and are very easy to crack as I know to my cost as I did just that when leaning over to clean the bath. Ever since then we've made a tiled panel (when we've moved house and updated the bathroom).
Here's another one for you to check out.
Maybe check out the thickness of the steel, Bathstore recommend 3.5mm (but probably because that's what they sell). I don't know what's good though, we didn't research them as steel baths are cold and will cool the water down quite quickly, acrylic baths are warmer but you get what you pay for, cheap thin acrylic baths will creak if not fitted really well.

IMHO pay the extra amd get a 3mm+ steel bath if you are going to stay in the house. Your local plumb merchant should be able to get you a good price if your friendly.0

Just to share my Victoria Plumb experience if it helps....
I ordered 2 toilets, 2 basins, 2 basin taps, an energy bath suite (steel version), a bath sreen, a valencia shower cabin and a kitchen tap all to go into our house renovation.
All but a toliet and basin have been installed, and they are all great. I love the bath- it comes with a gloss panel, which is fab. Can also recommend the double hinged bath screen. Had teething probs with the shower cabin- it was leaking in a big way, but we have managed to seal it now.
Victoria Plumb seem to have gotten a load of bad press, but they were great with me, from ordering to delivery. I would use them again, except I have no need as I ordered a house full the first time around!
I love my bath (the pulse range bath mixer and pop-up waste are great too)- will provide a pic if you want.
Can (and will) recommend them- probably one of the best online retailers I have used.:jMummy to 2 small 4 year old bundles of mischief!:j0 -
Thanks KT. I have not heard anything bad about the quality of their products just actually getting the items seems to be the hard bit, which is shame as I love that hinged shower screen and their prices are fabKavanne

i had no issues with delivery- they phoned 4 days after placing the rder to sort out delivery, and it came when they said it would, on the worst of the snowy days. Also had no probs contacting them on the number on the website, which has been another complaint that people have had. As I said before, I would hughly recommend them as a company.:jMummy to 2 small 4 year old bundles of mischief!:j0

support your local retailers
PTS- plumbing trade suppliers will give you a good price with over the counter service
Why use online with the high risk of transit damage when you can pick one up same/next day from a proper trade supplierHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
