I'm suprised there was only one response to this (and i don't have wap !) ......with everyone having a mobile these days and directory enquiries being used millions of times a week... and the high cost of directory enquiries being such a big discussion point on landlines ... .... can nobody help ??????????
  • If you have O2 inclusive minutes you can call the Free DQ service 0800 0192 190.Mentioned on this site a number of times in the poast.

If your calling it from a network that charges for calls to 0800 numbers or from a Paygphone. You can normally use one of the little known https://www.pre-dial.com 020 access numbers that allow you to call 0800/0808 numbers. These are 0200 222 0700/0900. Some networks bar them!

Please dont ask the operator if the call is free.It is, or it will be just the cost of a 020 call using pre-dial method. ;)

If people keep asking them is it free they might well pull it.

  • pricefighter ... have just rung the 0800 0192 190 from my sons' o2 .....

and it said " this is not a free call from this mobile"

That's the difference between free and from inclusive minutes. O2 would also tell you to redial omitting the initial 0.
  • Calls to 0844/ 0845/0870/0800/0808 are normally included in O2,s cross network minutes.Whether its a Contract or Payg phone.

If he has only got own network minutes and 01/02 numbers use the 0200 dial through access number.

If he is on basic payg no x-net minutes it will be chargeable. But if you use the dial through access code it will be only charged at 25p/5p a minute much cheaper then expensive dq service.

  • he's on o2 anytime anynetwork tariff . .. never goes over his inclusive minutes.

i know that 0870 do not get charged for him .

what should be the score ...what should we do ref this 0800 number ?

I realise this is an older thread, but if anyone is still looking for info, O2 Directory Enq service is 118402 at 60ppm, whereas O2 will charge you £1.50pm to call other 118 services including 118500 and 118118.
