Free Bags

When doing large weekly shop I take 3 huge Ikea blue bags with me, two sit in bottom of trolley & I put lightweight items in third one & it sits on top of others. You do only usually get 3 green points from Tesco's though unless you get a generous asst who will give a few more due to the size of the bags! (worth asking for more points). Having been to a recycle/landfill site with local school children, I ve seen first hand the number of plastic bags there, blowing around or in the ground not rotting, its quite alarming!! Its amazing how many plastic bags end up in the sea too - killing sealife. Therefore, I now make & give away FREE fabric shopping bags under the Morsbags sheme. Its a non profit making scheme to help reduce number of plastic bags by giving away fabric reuseable bags (often made from unwanted duvet covers, blankets, scrap fabric) There's even a simple pattern on the site to make your own bags...(www.morsbags.com) worth checking out the site whether you can sew or not...if not...have a go!!

I reuse carrier bags for used litter, bin liners etc. SoI don't see the issue . If i didn't use the carrier bags i would be buying bin bags so its not solving the landfill issue.
What they should do is ensure all carrier and binbags are biodegradeable.
Watch out for the co-op ones, they are definitely biodegradable, in fact after a few years they fluttered like white confetti all over the floor when I found some folded neatly in a pile whilst clearing out my MIL's place. Made a right mess
